MELISSA

Me: I can drive you to your Bachelorette Party this weekend.  

Melissa: Why?  Are you pregnant?

Me: I don't think so (I already knew that I was though :))  Wanna take a test for fun?

Melissa: Sure.  That would be fun.

Melissa didn't believe it was positive even after seeing the plus sign.  

She had to make sure by reading the pamphlet.

For both CHRISTINA and SELINA I bought a book called Where is Baby's Pumpkin?

Baby tries to find her pumpkin throughout the whole book.  On the last page of the book, it read:

"Is Baby's pumpkin on the porch?"  I added a post it in the book that read: "Yes, and Sunara's little pumpkin is in her belly.  Congrats you're going to be an auntie!"

Hey I got you a book!  She started to read it to us like she was a teacher.

We were shopping for outfits for Melissa's Bachelorette Trip.  

Me: I heard Nate did really well in Roulette last weekend.

Jill: Yea!  He played number 3 over and over again.

Me: Darn.... we usually play 3 too, but this time I had Tyler play 5 because that's the month our baby will be born.... (I waited for her to register what I said.  Below is her thinking face.)  Kiley already knew....

I wish I took more pictures or was more creative with surprising everyone.  

BUT it is just so hard to keep it a secret when all you want to do is shout it from the mountain top that "WE ARE PREGNANT.  Wooooo!"  That's kinda what I ended up doing so not everyone got a super special, planned out surprise.  I'm just not patient enough!  We are just so happy.

Lil Raspberry - 1st Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound on October 5, 2012.  Tyler and I were not expecting to see our lil baby so clearly and so developed.  What I expected was a little bean shaped thing.  What we saw was the baby's head, body, arms, legs and best of all - a strong & healthy heartbeat.  A sense of relief fell over both of us.  Our baby was growing as expected.  Seeing the heartbeat was one of the best things I've ever experienced in my life.  Looking over at Tyler's wide eyes made my heart so full.  This is the next step in our lives and we are the happiest people in the whole entire world.  This little baby will be 50% me and 50% my true love and best friend.  PS - Pregnancy has made me super gushy.  :)

Off to Melissa and Hoover's wedding rehearsal!  Best Day Ever!

Poppyseed

Dear Baby B,

Mommy and Daddy just found out that you are in mommy's belly only 7 days ago.  We are so happy that you are in our lives.  We love you already.  You are only the size of a poppyseed right now which is wonderful because mommy loves poppyseed salad dressing.  Every time she thinks about you this week, she will remember to eat lots of veggies and salad to help you grow a strong heart!

I can already feel you in my tummy.  There's like a little twinge feeling that I've been getting all day for 2 days now.  I know it's you, my little poppyseed.

Mommy took you dancing at Auntie Melissa's bachelorette party at Sway.  I know you would've liked seeing the glow sticks and hearing the bumpin' music.  Daddy is in Vegas this weekend for Uncle Hoover's bachelor party.  He misses kissing mommy's belly.  No worries he will be home tomorrow.

We have our first doctors appointment on September 26th.  Daddy is coming with mommy to make sure we know exactly how to make everything comfortable and perfect for you in mommy's tummy.  Your daddy calls mommy the "vessel".  I will make sure that you have a great trip in mommy's vessel.  Have fun in there.  See you in about 34 weeks!

Sweet Pea Appointment

About 4 weeks pregnant!!!

No bump yet.

Can't wait to start growing a baby bump!

We had our first appointment on September 26, 2012.  It was great to be there with Tyler.  Sometimes when I have appointments, I come home to try to explain everything to Tyler, yet I forget most of the important info.  With Tyler there, I have a personal sponge who soaks up all info!  He's my smartie!

A nurse came in to congratulate us and to give us some information about being pregnant - BONUS... we got some freebies!!  We are now owners of our first baby bottle.  It's so cute!  She opened up the floor for some questions... of course.... we did not have many.

I asked about hospitals that we get to chose from.  We will go with either St. Ann's, Riverside, or Dublin Methodist.  We are touring the hospitals sometime before Baby B comes out.

Our little baby is the size of a sweet pea.  It has 4 chambers to its heart that beats twice as fast as mine.  The eyes, nose, ears, mouths, and hands and feet are starting for form.  They say that sweet pea is paddling its arms and legs around right now!

I've had every pregnancy symptom a mommy has!  I love it.  I hope that feeling every symptom means a healthy baby is growing.  I will take all of the symptoms this baby is willing to give me!  No matter how much sleep I get, I'm still exhausted by 9am.  Ha!  It's so crazy how a woman's body changes so quickly to prepare for baby.  I used to have so much energy - I basically bounced off the walls 24/7.  Now all I want to do is nap.

Next appointment is October 5th before Melissa and Hoover's wedding rehearsal.  We will have our first ultrasound!

The Best Labor Day Ever

The First Response Pregnancy Test tells you 6 days before your missed period whether or not you are pregnant.  Wow, that is just amazing.  Humans are just so smart to have discovered that!

A woman's body releases a hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin).  The best pregnancy tests can trace the slightest amount of the hormone.  Just amazing.  On the 6th day before my missed period, I could only find a test that could be used on the 4th day before.  I decided, what the heck, I'm just going to try it.  I tested Monday morning, went to lay in bed, and fell asleep.  I woke up to Tyler saying, "We're pregnant!"  Immediately I said, "That test is wrong.  We don't know for sure because it's the wrong type of test.  It's only the 6th day and I took a 4th day test.  I frantically started digging for another pregnancy test.  I found one that would tell you if you are pregnant on the "day of your missed period".  This one was supposed to have a plus sign show up.  I figured, a plus sign cannot be misread, BUT a plus sign SLIGHTLY showed up.  Hmmm... I'm not trusting either of the tests.

On our way to the gym, we stopped by Kroger Marketplace to purchase the best pregnancy test ever, the one that tells you 6 days before.  The one that I thought I purchased and stockpiled.  :)  As soon as I got to Lifetime (the gym), I did my thing on the infamous stick and went to meet Tyler on the basketball court.  I laid the test on the gym floor and we played basketball for 5 minutes.  I'm an awful basketball player by the way.  Time went by pretty fast.  Tyler checked the stick.......

2 lines equals.... we're having our Baby B!  We hugged and kissed and in that moment there was no one in the room but me and my best friend, my partner, and who is now "MY BABY DADDY"!  lol
Of course we celebrated with a ribeye meal with a wedge salad to start.  Tyler had a glass of wine.  I had a glass of the pretend wine like the one I used to purchase for my younger sisters to ring in the new year.

Once again, we had THE best day ever.
