Was that a contraction?

On Sunday, May 19th Tyler and I went to the Delaware Art Festival.  We LOVE this festival so much.  One, it's right in our cool little town.  Two, the best reason, food trucks.  It is so nice to take a drive into Delaware to scope out the food trucks and of course nibble on a bunch of different things.  We ended up getting a bologna sandwich (delicious) and a gyro (just okay).

This year, our hopes were to walk so much that Benny would want to come out.  We were already 3 days past the due date.  Our hopes came true!  While we were walking around, I didn't feel like my normal self.  I really just wanted to sit instead of checking out the art.  In the past, we have purchased something cool from one of the vendors.  Last year Tyler bought a box for his watches carved out of a solid piece of wood.  We took some breaks to eat our food, but mostly it was for me to take a load off.  Every once and a while I remembered getting a feeling in my tummy which made it hard for me to walk.  It was tightening.  I mentioned to Tyler that they might be contractions, but I was unsure.

When we got home, I went straight for the couch and kicked my feet up.  They were super swollen.  I looked like I was stung by 8000 bees.  My ankles and feet were just huge!  I have never seen anyone's feet look like my feet looked before!  When you pressed your finger on my foot, it would leave an indentation which stayed for 20 minutes.

We started to wind down for the night around 9:45pm.  I started to feel cramps.  These cramps would come and go pretty quickly.  I thought it would be fun to time them to see if these "cramps" were actually contractions.  We started timing them around 10pm.  They were pretty consistent and occurred every 14 minutes or so.  We were told to go to the hospital when the contractions were 5 minutes apart, lasted 1 minute, for an hour. So we went to bed.  What I thought were contractions, really were contractions!
