Gradecards DONE

This is what my dining room looked like this past week.  Laptop with the gradecard template up and running, being the focal point of my dining room table.  To the right I have my mouse on top of graded math papers.  Above that, the baby monitor.  :)  To the left of the laptop, my gradebook binder and a beer (much needed).  Finally there are piles and piles of graded work behind the laptop.

It was the most difficult gradecard session I have ever had.  I kept on getting up to see what Benny was doing and wanting so much to throw in the towel just to be with my little baby.  I had to say to myself, do just one more.  Crank away at this.  I totally had a battle between getting my work done and not ignoring the little guy.  I mean look at that sweet face.  Gradecards? or Benny?  

Surprise surprise I found balance this past weekend.  I came to the realization that I can do both.  It was hard, but I am not the only one to have had a child and gone back to be successful at their job.  I'm starting to feel like myself again, able to tackle anything.  And after this past gradecard weekend, I conquered.

I couldn't have done it without Tyler.  He took over everything with Benny.  And because of that, I was able to get everything done!  Love this hubby of mine.

Circleville Pumpkin Show 2013

Last year we went to the pumpkin show and had a blast with the hoovers, Richards and Mason, no baby yet!  This year we went with BryBry and my mom AND our sweet little curious baby!  We carried him most of the time allowing him to people watch. I think he really enjoyed the sights and sounds of the festival. We had to stop to feed him once, but he was too busy paying attention to the commotion around him, he didn't eat much. I was finally able to feed him a whole bottle while Daddy was playing Cane Toss with Bryan. 

My mom hooked one on her first try!  Also, Tyler hooked a big daddy cane, very exciting!

Tongue

Someone is 4 months old!  He has found his tongue. It's so adorable. He just sits there exploring the feeling of it going in and out. I tried it myself...  Boy our tongues are fascinating!  

He also started eating oatmeal cereal last week. Yesterday we introduced spinach and rutabaga. So far, he loves it!  Love this adorable kid. 

4 mos wellness appointment

17 pounds 13 ounces!  25 3/4 inches long. Our big boy is growing up so fast!

September 2013

It's such a busy time right now but I don't want to not keep up on the blog.  This will be my September catch up blog!

Ben is transitioning well from being with me this summer to being at his daycare.  He is making new friends.  This is a picture of him and his friend Owen. 

After I pick Ben up, we come home and walk Choppy. It's so much harder having Ben and making sure I give Chops attention. Choppy has been such a good boy since we had Ben. 

We took Ben to the pediatrician because we thought he might have had an ear infection. Ms. Ashley noticed that he was a little fussier one morning. At home, he woke up in the middle of he night to eat. That's unusual for him. He's usually a good sleeper. So we wanted to be safe. It turned out he didnt have an ear infection. He just had a tummy ache. He cried for 2 hours because of it. It's crazy how helpless you feel when your baby is in pain.

Newest #1 Steelers Fan

Pittsburgh meet Benjamin!  We just had the best time today!  Tyler ran the 5k while Ben and I waited for him at the finish line. Tyler had a personal best today, 23 minutes!!  Im so proud of him and his hard work. 

Initially, I wanted to walk the race w Ben in the stroller, but when we got there, everyone was in beast mode, I didn't see any stroller runners.  The last 5k Tyler ran, there were stroller runners everywhere. I decided to sit this one out. My official first 5k  will be The Color Run in October!  We will be doing that w our friends in columbus.

Little Pacers Childcare

Benjamin loves his teacher, Ms. Ashley. She takes such great care of him and keeps him so busy all day!  We love that he is cared for in a home environment while being able to socialize with other kiddos all day. There is a kid named Owen who make Benjamin laugh so loud. I love that he is making friends already at such a young age. 

Strong neck

He's such a big boy now!  His neck is so strong.  Instead of whining and screaming during tummy time, he now likes it.  When I'm getting ready for the day, I put him on his tummy to play.  My mom also scared me saying that he will have a flat head if I don't keep him off of his back.  I've been obsessed with having him lie on his side or belly.  

Sir Grips A Lot

Ben is learning how to grip things now.  It is so cool to see him stare at things trying to understand it.  We are just having so much fun watching him grow up everyday.  It is just going by so fast.  I can't believe he is already 3 months!

He always falls asleep on his way home from daycare.  The drive is only 4 minutes!
