Alright alright.... I'll go shopping

Ok I gave in.

I've been trying very hard to not spend any money on new clothes.  I have so many things that I just don't wear in my closet.  After 6 months of wearing my "fat jeans" and loose fitting shirts, I had to cave in and buy some things.  It was actually a lot of fun.  I tried going a couple times before, but I felt like poop walking in the store.  I was either too bloated to try anything on or just not in the mood to buy for me instead of the baby.

In one of the pregnancy books that my friend Jill got me, it asked, "What has been the cutest/sweetest thing your hubby has done for you during this pregnancy?"  He is a wonderful husband and has done so many sweet things, but I will never forget how sweet he was when we went shopping this past weekend.  He had the sweetest things to say to me as I tried everything on and gracefully pranced around so he could see the clothes on me.  He said with the cutest sound of shock/awe in his voice, "You look so pregnant." and he told me that everything looked great.  He even said, "The skinny jeans look good with everything."  I just love him because with my Tyler, it's never just a "Yes" or "No", it's always the sweetest, most thoughtful comment.  I love him so much for that.  He is the best husband in the world and I know he will be the best daddy as well.

See through - love it

form fitting - so cute with my new skinny jeans

I love this!

I wore this today with black cowboy boots!

It's so crazy how big my belly has gotten in the last month.  I know I keep on saying that, but it really has!  Today, my belly button has been sore.  I think it's about to pop out!  That'll be about the strangest thing.  :)

I just want to keep on writing to document all of my feelings during this pregnancy.  Time has flown by.  I can't believe I only have 3 more months before Benny shows up.

I'm not sure if Benzster can sense puppy or if he is waking up to our morning alarms, but in the morning when Choppy lies near my belly, Ben starts kicking him!  It's hilarious!  I hope they become best friends.  I know Chopper will take care of Benny.  Benny might be the one that we have to yell at to "be nice" to Choppy.  :)

Juicy Grapefruit

Ben is the size of a grapefruit.  There is definitely a juicy grapefruit in there!  He's squirming around at all hours of the day.  When my alarm goes off, he kicks me.  After I eat breakfast, he becomes squirmy.  In the evening, he responds to Tyler's voice.  Sometimes it feels like a little fishy swimming around in my "swimming pool".  I LOVE it!

22 weeks - Pointy belly!

At 22 weeks, Tyler was able to feel the lil Ben kick.  It was so cool.  Since week 16 I've been asking "Did you feel that?" with little luck of Tyler feeling him.  Finally this week, he asked me, "Was that a kick?"  That's when I knew that he was feeling our baby.  He felt 3 big kicks!  Tyler has been so excited about the whole pregnancy.  I'm just so glad that he is able to feel his little boy move around now.

I've been using body oil and lotion that Jill gave me.  I know stretch marks is an inevitable result of carrying a baby, but I'm trying to do whatever I can to reduce the stretch marks.  They say you just need to stay hydrated and keep your skin moisturized.  It also depends on genetics.  My mom never got stretch marks so i'm hoping i'm as lucky as her.  We'll see.

23 weeks

We found a very nice "sleigh bed" crib.  It is just gorgeous.  It is one of those cribs that can morph into a "big boy" bed in a couple of years.  Who ever invented that is a genius!  We can probably use the bed until Benny is 10 (fingers crossed).  There is also a matching changing table that morphs into a regular dresser as well.  We are going to look around for a while, but I think I really like the one we saw last weekend.

I think we are painting this week.  We are going with the navy blues and grays in his room.  I just hope I can find the color that I'm picturing in my head.  I want to do all things nautical in hopes that Benjamin will love the water as much as his daddy and I do!

Benjamin the Pomegranate

Benjamin's face at 20 weeks

I can't believe how big the little guy has gotten!  We are at the half way mark and he is growing perfectly!  The doctor told us that all of his height and weight proportions were developing at the right pace.  He's so big now that I can feel him move all of the time.  He wakes up at about 8:30am, sleeps the rest of the morning, wakes up around 1pm to kick his mommy some more, and then kicks and stretches again around 9pm.

No one can ever prepare you for this experience.  Now that I'm going through this pregnancy, it makes me so aware of the foods that I'm putting in my body.  All I want to do is make sure that I'm providing the best environment for Mr. Ben to grow and be as healthy as he can be.  I TRY not to have too many sweets, but sometimes the cravings are just too hard to ignore.  Truffles are my new best friend.  I ate a whole bag of bbq chips one days as well!  Calm down Sunara!!!

Tyler 21 weeks - I love these glasses on him!
