Grubbin' on an Island

We ate so well on vacation.  Everything was fresh, creative and definitely a fine representation of "Hawaiian food".  It is so nice to travel to places where the food is "different" from what we have here.  We tried to find places that served our favorite foods with a little unique prep style.

When you wake up at 5:30am everyday, you get very hungry.  We had breakfast almost everyday followed by delicious dinners~ worked up an appetite after a long day of snorkeling.  During most of the dinners, I was sun burnt yet loving having nothing to do but enjoy a lovely meal with my husband.  We hardly ever go out to dinner anymore, it was just nice to have a "date night" every night on vacation.  We even picked up a pizza one night and walked the beach trail back to our hotel.  I ordered Hawaiian on half while Tyler chose the meat lovers on the other side.

My Baby B will be one lucky little baby.  It will be spoiled with yummy foods for the whole 40 weeks it's in my belly.  I'm SURE I will be having some major cravings.  LOL.  Poor Tyler!  Maybe we can go to Canada's China Town for my favorite Banh Mi sub!

Kona Golden Ale at Cheeseburger in Paradise

Our favorite beer in Maui
Maui Brewing Company

Tyler had a lot of fun making me pose for food pics!  lol

I had THE BEST red snapper and Tyler order swordfish.  Tyler was picking at my meal.
There was a chili oil on my dish that was delicious

Ahi Bennis - rare Ahi tuna in place of the Canadian Bacon on an Eggs Benedict
Duke's Beach House ~ Honua Kai

Exhausted from the snorkel excursion, but very hungry.
Teriyaki Steak @ Leilani's - Whaler's Village - Lahaina

I've seen this meal on all of the Food Network shows.  I had to try it.
It's a Maui Cattle Company hamburger patty and eggs on a bed of jasmine rice smothered with gravy.
I would rate this one... "just ALRIGHT" - a little bland.
Not to worry... I ordered a macadamia nut pancake with coconut syrup.
Loco Moco @ Pioneer Inn - Lahaina

Also at the Pioneer Inn
Mahi Benedict

Okay so I had to have pho at this hole in the wall place we found.
It was so delicious.
Pho Saigon - Lahaina

Tyler describes this as one of the best things he has ever eaten.
Big Boy Burrito - Duke's Beach House

Wow!  After looking at all of the pictures I realized that we ate SO much more than we could handle.  It was 8 days of grub fest!  Long days means FEED the BELLY!  We hardly ate the next week!

Not pictured:  Kahlua Pig Omelet from Aloha Mixed Plate, Pizza from Nikko's in Whaler's Village, Fudge from the great fudge place on Front St., Charcuterie, smoked ahi tuna spread, and poke from the local grocery store Foodland, Parmesean crusted Mahi on the Hula Girl snorkel trip, and kabobs at Cliff Dive Bar.
